Jazmine Rocks

I have been TOTALLY inspired by Jazmine Rocks, a nineteen year old art student and charity shop volunteer from London.  Actually, I knew Jazmine and her mum, Barrina, from quite some time ago when she was still a little girl having sleep overs at our home with Lorah!  I am so proud of the woman she has become and am totally inspired by what she is doing with her life!

Jazmine loves second hand shopping, in fact she has taken something that many people turn their noses up at, and turned it into something quite trendy!  I was never sure about the whole charity shopping thing but since discovering what Jazmine is doing I have become a fan.  Today I plan to hit the charity shops and see what I can see and I hope I can put a decent outfit together as well as Jazmine does.

This is a fantastic part of our Wardrobe Tips series and fits in really nicely with our Ethical Fashion convictions too.  If you have done any ethical shopping lately or put together a nice outfit from the charity shops please email me the photos and some info about it and I'll share here.  In the meantime, check out this awesome video about what Jazmine is doing... at nineteen may I remind you!

WOW, I think it's time many of us stop feeling sorry for ourselves and our lack of money and actually do something creative with our life.  Thank you Jazmine, your life is an inspiration, never change who you are.

  2. I actually don't find most Charity Shops particularly INexpensive ! So I assume you're coming from the ETHICAL shopping direction?

  3. I know what you mean Jane, I was quite surprised at some of the prices, but some shops are very good, I guess you just have to have time to hunt.

For Such a Time As This

Hello King's Daughters, It's been a while since I've been in touch and King's Daughters has been very quiet, in fact totally dormant.  During this time of dormancy, a seed has been growing inside of me and it's so strong that I have to seriously consider if it's God saying "It's time".  Time to start taking back what the enemy has stolen from us. Time to fight for our families, schools, churches, communities and nation. Time to pray together and be proactive, not reactive to what is going on in the world today. Time to talk about the complex topics that our churches may not be ready to discuss openly such as gender confusion and mental health issues. Time to learn how to generate an income or second income by using what's in our hands and to have extra to be generous to the world around us as we face economic uncertainty.  Time to find balance when everyone else is consumed by busyness. I have a story to tell, a struggle I've been through t...
