Where I Live

Every morning my daughter, Lorah-Kelly , and I go for walk together around the lovely streets of Battledown.  It is very hilly so a great workout for us!  This morning however, we both overslept (yes we live in different houses) and so had to motivate ourselves to go for a walk.  To add some excitement to our routine we decided to walk on the lovely Leckhampton Hill! It was such a beautiful morning and the views were amazing.  I marveled over each wild flower and each tree.  I gasped at the butterflies that were out in full force and savoured the sounds of the chirping birds.  The more I encounter the awesome creation that we live in the more I love the God that made it.  It is very difficult not to love Him when I see all the beautiful things that He made for us to enjoy.  I honestly think it takes more faith not to believe in God that it does to believe in Him.  It would be the same as if you marveled at an amazing painting but denied that there was a painter.  I am always left brea

Amy and My Fun Day with Jumangillou Jewellery

Amy and I had a wonderful mother and daughter's morning this morning, making jewellery with Jumangillou Jewellery .  It was really fun for both Amy and I, and I definitely want to go again!  I am sure Amy does too ;)  Jumangillou also offers children's workshops, girl's birthday parties, ladies workshops, hen party activities and even team building events.  Amy and I discussed having a jewellery making birthday party for her next birthday, I can't wait!  Enjoy our photos below and get in touch with Gill on 07939 260118 or visit her website www.jumangillou.co.uk if you want to go along to one of her events.  Amy and I didn’t only make jewellery together but we made a precious memory too.   First things first - Babyccino! Heart 2 Heart Breakfast

Today I had to wonderful privilege of speaking at the Heart 2 Heart Ladies Breakfast in Lechlade.  It was a beautiful morning with everything perfectly set out in the stunning St Lawrence Church .  Butterflies decorated the building along with pretty flowers and the aroma of fresh coffee.  What was most beautiful about this event was the warmth of all the lovely ladies.  Below are some photos and right at the bottom is a video of the message I shared.  If you live anywhere near Lechlade I highly recommend that you connect with the lovely Heart 2 Heart Ladies. Their next ladies breakfast is on 15th June at 9am at St Lawrence Church in Lechlade. Contact Katy for more info.

Keys for a Great 2013

As 2012  comes to a close I find myself pondering on what worked and what didn't so I can learn from my successes and failures for 2013.  There are two things that stand out very strongly.  These two things have also attracted abuse and criticism from some people and praise from others.  I, however, make no apologies for standing by what I believe to be not only be Biblical but also have been proved in my life.   Tithing This has been a key to our finances.  My husband and I don't have a fixed income but we do have fixed giving.  We give ten percent of all our income including gift money and all our earnings as a first fruit to God.  In additional to our ten percent we also give offerings of varying amounts as well as money to the poor when we can. Malachi 3:10-11 says, Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you

King's Daughters Conference 2012

I can't believe a year has gone by and it's that time again.  It feels like just yesterday that I was writing about how the King's Daughters Conference was conceived and here I am again counting down the final 5 days to our second event.  The 2012 conference is so much bigger and so much better than last year's one .  I am bursting with excitement about all that we have planned and can't wait to be writing another blog post to you soon with feedback and photos.  I highly recommend that you subscribe to our new YouTube channel so you can be the first to see all the media after the conference.  There is not much for me to say right now as I am way too nervous and excited.  If you haven't already got your ticket please do so at www.kingsdaughtersconference.co.uk and if you live too far away to join us don't worry as next year's event is international, we will come to you via your computer screen .  Exciting times ahead!

King's Daughters Live Video

Welcome to a brand new section on my blog for video posts.  I am both nervous and excited about this as videos are a lot less safe that written posts.  Never-the-less, I will feel the fear and do it anyway in the hope that somehow this will further the kingdom.  Below is my very first video from a Girl's Night that we held in Ross-on-Wye, UK last week.  Subscribe to King's Daughters on our new Youtube page .  Before you watch, please don't be too critical and have mercy on me as this is only a humble, small begining with lots of room for growth :)

Women of the World

I didn't sleep well last night.  I was troubled.  What I had heard yesterday disturbed me.  Surely that can't be true.  Surely that sort of thing doesn't still happen in this day and age.  There are women in this world, many women, who have real problems.  Life threatening problems.  These women have no help and they continue to suffer without any hope of change.  I tossed and turned all night, wrestling with God, saying, "What can I do, I am just one woman with little to offer."       It was then that I realised that King's Daughters is not about me, it never was and I never wanted it to be, but it is all about what God wants to do for His daughters in this world.  He is grieved that His precious daughters are suppressed and we who are free should rise up and do something about it. How?   I don't know but that doesn't mean we will sit back and do nothing.   When? Right now.   Who?   You and me Why?  Because we can Together, we can mak

Sneaky Photos by Lorah-Kelly

I have been accompanying my lovely daughter, Lorah-Kelly , on various photo shoots lately which has been loads of fun.  Each time she ended up sneaking in a few photos of me so I thought I would share them with you just for fun.  The first shoot we did was for the cover of my new book, Esther or Delilah? .  I sat on the sidelines directing the shoot and caring for one of the model's baby as she braved the cold.  You can see the full photo shoot here and below is the sneaky one Lorah took of me! The following day we did a family shoot in the park.  Myself and a friend were on the sidelines playing around with some umbrellas. Lorah decided to photograph this too!  See more of the umbrella photos here . I highly recommend getting Lorah to take some photographs for you, at the moment she is running a special where you only pay for the photos you want and not the shoot. Email Lorah at lorah@lorahkelly.co.uk for more info.

TOCP - Introduction

My name is Angela De Souza, I am the mother of four gorgeous children, Lorah-Kelly, Jordan, Daniel and Amy. My husband and I are the senior pastors of D7 Church and at the time of this writing I served in the capacity of Executive Pastor too.  I can honestly say that no recipe or formula for church building exists - God does not work in this way! D7 Church is living proof of this. Not because we didn’t try, we did try, we tried just about everything.  Oswald Chambers writes, “Never make a principle out of your experience, let God be as original with other people as He is with you.” In the same way I would say, don’t try and copy our journey or make principles out of our experiences, let God be as original with your church as He was with ours. We did not fit into a mould or a recipe, even though at first we tried to. Our bookshelf is lined with books that tell you what works and what doesn’t work. Our computer is filled with files of blog posts from mega-church pastors and docu

2011 Highlights

After having a very long season of rest I am more than ready to get stuck into 2012.  2011 was wonderful, stressful and tiring.  Lessons were learnt, personal character was challenged and I found myself stretched in many ways.  King's Daughters has grown from a blog into a Girl's Night and then into a conference! Looking ahead I can see that there is much more to come and I am more prepared for and excited by the challenges than ever before.  I would love you and/or your church to join us on our King's Daughters journey in 2012, we will be getting stuck into Being a Wife as well as much more. Why not start a Girl's Night in your area too? Please contact me for more info about the study notes.  Here are some highlights from 2011: Jan - The 'Being a Woman' journey began and resulted in a Being a Woman book Feb - We started our Girl's Night which has resulted in some beautiful friendships Mar - My second book, Secure on the Rock , was released
