Worship Album of the Year

I know we are only in April but I can't wait until the end of the year to declare this the worship album of the year!

The album extremely well produced, the songs well written with the music and vocals simply beautiful! You truly get closer to God by simply listening to this anointed worship album. Singing along is inevitable even though occasionally a word pops up that you may no be familiar with.

My children and I find this album extra special as we watched Watoto live at our church, heart their amazing stories and danced along to the song Heirs which we cannot listen to without dancing to now!

Get you digital copy on Amazon or iTunes and the only place I could find the CD was to buy directly from the team on tour.  Find there tour dates here.

Well done Watoto for being an inspiration to so many of us world wide.

Girl's Night - A Resolution to Value Myself and Celebrate Others

This week at Girl's Night we had a really good look at our identity, insecurities and fears. We also chatted about how nasty women can be to each other and how this often stems from our identity, insecurities and fears. After a good heart to heart, we agreed to choose to see the best in each other, build each other up and support each other on our journey to finding our true self.

THIS IS WHO I AM

Intelligent Design
Using an interesting analogy of interior decorating, we considered how our life may not have turned out as we planned based on a small detail that we have allowed to affect us.

Discussion questions:

  1. What are some minor incidents you’ve allowed to shape your self-image or self worth?

  2. How has the decorating scheme of your life turned out differently than you would like as a result of that?

  3. Read 1 Peter 2:9-10 and record that statements of value declared concerning you. Make a point of really studying and meditating on this Scripture, digging more deeply into the truths revealed.

Supernatural Selection
We had a good look at how we are chosen by our God, set apart and appointed by Him.  This is a powerful position that we have that allows us to be secure in who we are and what we are meant to do here on planet earth.

Discussion questions:

  1. Choose at least one of the following verses to study and memorize: a. Eph. 2:10 – a declaration of your importance to God b. Jer. 1:5 – a confirmation of your selection by God c. 2 Cor. 3:5 – a verification of your sufficiency in God

  2. Consider the things you may have failed to do because you felt ill equipped or unworthy to participate. Choose one of them to begin doing this week.

Happy to Be You
This is a wonderful section on celebrating who we are as well as celebrating what we see in others. Too often we take who we are for granted and are unable to appreciate our uniqueness or we simple don't see our special qualities and live completely blind to them.

Discussion questions:

  1. Record uniquenesses another person sees in you. Which of these surprise you?

  2. Record how you can be more intentional about using and celebrating those characteristics.

  3. How would the dynamics of your family, your office, or your relationships benefit from your doing this?

The Affirmation Crusade
Take time to look back over your notes from this section. Consider what will be required for you to live authentically, as well as the freedom you’ll experience when you do. Additionally, think of some other women who, for whatever reason, you are hesitant to compliment. Make a point to commend them for their unique value and worth to you this week. Read the resolution out loud and sign your name below it.

You are welcome to join us at our Girl's Nights in Cheltenham or if you wish to set up your own group and study along with us where you are get a copy from Amazon and stay connected through www.resolution.kingsdaughters.co.uk and Facebook where we will post every study and chat in the comments boxes below each post.

Standing in the way of the blessing

We were sitting in a coffee shop discussing the way forward with our pastor. Eric suggested taking his studies from part time to full time so that it could get done quicker and get back to earning a salary. I agreed to support him and had no problem with him going full time, in fact I preferred it that way. So I said, "Don't worry, I can take care of us financially while he is studying. I am making enough money in my business to support us."

Not long after that meeting Eric had a dream. He dreamed that I was flying an aeroplane and the cockpit area started to crack. He knew I was going to crash. After discussing his dream I asked how we could prevent it but neither of us could find the answer. We knew that the aeroplane was my business and that is was going to crash. I was frightened but didn't know what to do.

Shortly after the dream my company did start to fall apart. I went from a really good, steady income to almost losing the business. It seemed to happen overnight. My whole world was be falling apart. We got behind in our bills and tithing became impossible because the money was leaving our account before we could even touch it. We went from doing really well to doing really poorly. Everything I had built seemed to be crashing down around me. God was silent until I begged him to show me what was happening!

Pride. He showed me that I had become proud. My income and my husband's lack of income had caused a terribly imbalance in our life. I hated that he wasn't earning and that I was responsible for us. I desperately didn't want to feel this way, I wanted to support him while he was at university and I wanted to do it well. But I wasn't doing it well, not at all. And so the company continued its steady downward spiral and I repented of every possible thing I could think of. Nothing changed. The crash was inevitable.

Seven months passed and I held onto the 'yoke' in the cockpit for dear life! Things were not good but I held it together both in the business and at home. I was preparing for a crash because I really didn't know how to prevent it.

Then out of the blue when I was praying one day God reminded me of what I said that day in the coffee shop, "Don't worry, I can take care of us financially", and he showed me how that one little sentence was causing all this trouble.  I had repented of pride in general but not of saying these specific words. Our words create our world and so when I said these words I took hold of the yolk of the aeroplane from God and I became our provider. Clearly I was not a very good provider. As soon as I saw the power in the words I had spoken, and what they had done, I repented and asked God to please be our provider again. I realised that all that time I was standing in the way of God's blessing. As soon as I got out of the way the cash flow started to return and I started to get back to steadily building the business with God's help and for his glory. I don't know what will happen next but I do know that whatever happens it will be OK, God is in control and my God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

How about you - are you struggling in any particular area? Are you perhaps standing in the way of the blessing and the breakthrough? Is there anything that you have said or done that needs to be dealt with? I so hope my little story will help someone. It's not easy to share this but for your sake I do, I hope it helps.

Introducing Resolutions for Men

Introducing The Resolution for Men!

After our first Girl's Night in January the women were buzzing so much that the men insisted on having their own night too! We are so excited because we have a special night for men and women now where we focus on resolving to be the men and women that God intended us to be. In a society with so much gender confusion and uncertainty, even in the churches, we want to get back to the basics.

Hosted by Charlton King's Baptist Church but open to all - you are welcome to join us at our Girl's Nights or Men's Nights.  If you wish to set up your own group and study along with us in your own church let us know how we can support you.

Get a copy of the books from Amazon.
Girl's and stay connected through www.resolution.kingsdaughters.co.uk
and King's Daughters on Facebook or your men can join in at www.mensnight.adlife.uk or AD Life on Facebook.

It's time for the church to shine brightly, for men to boldly stand out as men and women to courageously stand out as women.  The world wants to be gender neutral but God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Let's resolve to be all that God created us to be!
