World Wide News #2

It's simply mind blowing to see what God is doing in and through King's Daughters.  Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine all this.  But God did and there is still so much more to come.
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
- Ephesians 3:20-21

King's Daughters Uganda
We had an exciting time yesterday with King's Daughters Uganda. This was our second meeting that brought together the mothers only. We excluded the young girls since they have a meeting on the last Sunday of the month. Our topic of discussion was "Being a Wife" zeroing on "Who wants to be a Wife". We went on step by step discussing things that cause as not to want to be a wife - and this include the first point; PAST HURT/ABUSE.

Then it was open for discussion, one mother amazed us when she spoke about her life. She was sexually abused while in nursery school. When she grew up, she got engaged to a man with intentions of getting married. Three weeks before her engagement ceremony, she was raped while coming from her home cell fellowship while holding a bible!. As the news spread around of her misfortune, a week later her fiance stopped the engagement, followed by the breaking of the relationship. She was completely devastated. She painfully cancelled everything including the wedding plans. The fiance went on to marry her closest friend. She got into depression and decided to kill herself. Every time she would meet the couple, they would mock her and provoke her openly. As she planned to kill herself, her brother got to know about it and rescued her from taking her own life. She hated men even more. Eventually she backslid and along the way she got pregnant. But God had not given up on her. HE followed her every where! She later came back to God. Yesterday she opened up, after discussing this lesson. She says "I felt a heavy burden being lifted from my heart" and also said " Now I think i can get married even though am a single mother. I leave all options to God"

The next point of discussion was SPIRITUAL DIFFERENCE. This woman is married to a non-believer. Her greatest problem was to submit to her husband who comes back home drunk and at odd hours. She can not serve him food let alone to submit. She learnt a lot in the line of submission which she had never done. She went home a changed wife. Since now she knows in submission you can win your husband to Christ.

Finally, our Muslim photographer was back again. Even though this was not a meeting for her group, she sat among us. In fact she got so carried away and almost forgot to do her work. At the end we held hands together and prayed also with her with a request that we pray for her Muslim father to embrace christian values. We bless God for what has happened.

The women are motivated, inspired and encouraged. Am trusting God to enable me to hold these meetings. It is a great challenge but I do it by the grace of God.  We need your prayers! I am planning to hold a couples seminar soon so that these women could come with their husbands. It's in my heart and I know the Lord once He speaks, it shall come to pass. Thank you once again and may our good Lord bless you and King's Daughters.

As if that wasn't enough, Caroline has now been asked to minister to the young girls in a local school each week.  Praise God for all that He is doing in Uganda.

For Such a Time As This

Hello King's Daughters, It's been a while since I've been in touch and King's Daughters has been very quiet, in fact totally dormant.  During this time of dormancy, a seed has been growing inside of me and it's so strong that I have to seriously consider if it's God saying "It's time".  Time to start taking back what the enemy has stolen from us. Time to fight for our families, schools, churches, communities and nation. Time to pray together and be proactive, not reactive to what is going on in the world today. Time to talk about the complex topics that our churches may not be ready to discuss openly such as gender confusion and mental health issues. Time to learn how to generate an income or second income by using what's in our hands and to have extra to be generous to the world around us as we face economic uncertainty.  Time to find balance when everyone else is consumed by busyness. I have a story to tell, a struggle I've been through t...
